Sarah Tornberg



Sarah Tornberg is a Doctoral Researcher in Social Policy at the University of Jyväskylä. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences with a major in Sociology and brings a practitioner-informed perspective to her research through a professional background in healthcare.

Her doctoral research examines disruptions in healthcare and energy sectors caused by green and digital transitions. Sarah is particularly interested in how these transformations reshape work, professional roles, and power relations, and how workers and their representatives respond to change. Her research interests include social bargaining, trade union strategies, and the concept of just transition.

Sarah has participated in multidisciplinary research projects, including work in environmental sociology, and is skilled at connecting structural change to everyday working life. Her work contributes to debates relevant to policymakers, labour market actors, and organisations navigating rapid technological and environmental transformation.
