Shahnaj Begum Contributes to the Net-Care Project on Culturally Congruent Digital Mental Health Services
Shahnaj Begum is actively involved as a team member in the Net-Care Project, led by Dr. Marjo Kolehmainen, Academy Research Fellow at the University of Turku.
The Net-Care Project examines culturally congruent care models to support effective digital mental health services for minority and migrant communities. The research focuses on how culture, ethnicity, gender, and age shape individuals’ experiences of care, including issues of trust, accessibility, and engagement within digital health services.
The project is particularly timely in Finland, the most digitized country in the European Union, where the specific needs of minority and migrant communities in digital health contexts remain under-researched. Through her involvement, Shahnaj contributes to advancing knowledge on diversity, equity, and inclusion in digital mental health care and supports the development of more accessible and culturally responsive service models.
