TAIMI Researcher Hertta Vuorenmaa Delivered a Keynote at HR Week Lisbon on the Future of Work

Hertta Vuorenmaa recently attended HR Week Lisbon, where she delivered a keynote on the future of work and the skills that will become increasingly important in the years ahead.

In her keynote, Vuorenmaa discussed how changes in working life are reshaping the capabilities expected from organizations and employees alike. As work becomes more global, hybrid, and human-centered, many researchers and practitioners emphasize the growing importance of inclusion, collaboration, and psychological safety in the workplace.

According to Vuorenmaa, inclusive capabilities are no longer separate from organizational performance or leadership, but have become central to them.

“Inclusive capabilities are no longer optional; they are central to performance, innovation, and leadership,” Vuorenmaa noted during the keynote.

She highlighted that organizations will increasingly be distinguished by their ability to listen across differences, create psychologically safe environments, challenge bias, including their own, and enable everyone to contribute meaningfully.

The keynote also emphasized that the future of work is not only about technological development or efficiency, but about how people work together and build sustainable working cultures.

Vuorenmaa’s presentation connected closely with TAIMI’s ongoing work on the future of working life and the development of more inclusive and human-centered organizations.

Look forward to future collaborations and continued conversations on the future of work.
