Shahnaj Begum Contributed to the Organization of an International Symposium on Care Ethics
On 19–20 February 2026, Shahnaj Begum served as a member of the organizing team for the multidisciplinary symposium “Time, Violence, and the Ethics of Care: Psychosocial Perspectives,” held at the University of Turku.
The symposium brought together scholars to explore critical psychosocial perspectives on care ethics, examining how time, vulnerability, and structural forms of violence shape care practices and relationships. The event featured Professor Lisa Baraitser (Birkbeck, UK) as the guest speaker.
Through her role in the organizing team, Shahnaj contributed to facilitating interdisciplinary dialogue and advancing scholarly discussions on the ethical dimensions of care. The symposium strengthened academic collaboration and enriched ongoing research conversations on care, ethics, and social justice.
